At His Feet

Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word. But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.” And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”

Luke 10:38-42

As Martha, we may be too worried about getting things done, fret about what we don't get done, or sit around in guilt over something we should or shouldn't have done. But Jesus wants us to be as Mary, and come sit at His feet. He wants us to bring our worries, guilt, frustrations, and regrets to Him, as well as just spending time getting to know Him and experiencing His unconditional love for us. He created us to have fellowship with Him. It isn't about religion where the focus is on what we are to do or not do. It is about a loving relationship where the focus is on spending time with our loving Saviour. I have to remind myself of this often.

So very thankful for the time I have sitting at His feet,
Dianne
